Cowlinge Chronicle/newsletter

The Courier was the original newsheet for the village and ran for many years.

The Courier was the original newsheet for the village and ran for many years.  As part of the digitisation of the village records it is planned to scan all these and make them available online.

The Courier was superseded by the Chronicle and was edited for many years by Richard Waters who used to live at Rose Cottage.  Richard moved to Cornwall but very kindly continued to edit the chronicle until failing contributions from the village forced him to give up in the Summer of 2014.

The baton was picked up by Sue Smith at The Threeways pub (formerly The Three Tuns) for a while until she also gave up as nothing was forthcoming to include in her editions either.

All these many decades of news monthly/quarterly news were delivered by hand to every household in the village and was, and still is, the only means of getting information round to everybody.

Linda Aston kindly took up the reins and from September 2019 but, once again, there was little input from villagers so she also gave up.

If there are any large events in the village in future then a single page leaflet can be delivered around most of the village to get information out.
