FAQs – What should I do if?

Missed bin collections – Message from West Suffolk Council

Please contact customer services to report your bin as not emptied.

  • Unemptied blue or black bins can be reported from 3pm on the scheduled day of collection.
  • Unemptied brown garden waste bins can be reported from 4:15pm on the scheduled day of collection.

All unemptied bins must be reported within two working days after the original collection day. If reported after that time, the crews will not return to empty the bin.

Reporting a Highways problem to Suffolk County Council

Suffolk County Council has a new interactive online reporting tool for highways problems

If there is a problem which poses an immediate danger to public safety – call 0345 606 617

You can report a range of problems including:

  • Blocked drains
  • Bridge or highway structure
  • Cycle lanes or tracks
  • Drain-manhole cover
  • Debris, weeds or mud on the road
  • Flooding on a road or pavement
  • Heavy goods vehicle incident
  • Grass cutting
  • Lit sign or bollard
  • Missing or damaged barriers or guardrails
  • Missing or faded road markings
  • Obscured, missing or damaged sign
  • Pothole
  • Pavement defect
  • Public right of way
  • Street light
  • Traffic signal or pedestrian crossing
  • Tree or hedge affecting the highway

Please use the online reporting tool for any tree related problem (fallen or overhanging branches/overgrown hedges)
